Tanya Tarr

How Crocheting Hooked me on Databases

I want to talk about how my hobby as a crocheter inspires my work with databases, market segmentation and statistical analysis. Ultimately, I want to talk about how tinkering in many disciplines lends itself to inspiration in many, often divergent, fields.

About Tanya Tarr:

Tanya Tarr is a political analyst for the American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees (AFSCME), fighting for 1.6 million working people across the country. Previously she was Data Manager for Working America, AFL-CIO. Tanya is a graduate of Carnegie Mellon University and the H. John Heinz III School of Public Policy and Management. She looks for inspiration through her hobbies, which include Bikram yoga, crochet, and hiking.
