In 2007, I began taking swing lessons. After a year-and-a-half of submersing myself in three swing communities, a mambo studio, and the world of Argentine Tango, I discovered something completely unexpected: that partner dancing is really just a metaphor for life, and that becoming good at the former makes you much, much better at the latter.
