Science 2.0: Implications on the way we do research
While the latest web2.0 technologies are changing the world at the blink of an eyelid, the academic world seems to be lagging behind in the race. This talk would focus on the shortcomings of the age old method of "peer reviewed" publications, the implications it is having on the quality of research and the impact this system could have on an individual's career in these thought economic times. The talk would also highlight the impediments in embracing social media very specific to the acedemic and scientific research world, and lead to some thought provoking questions in this regard.
