Laid off? Go Solo.

I was recently laid off from my job as an interaction designer. Faced with this reality, I became an independent consultant and now have some great clients lined up. I'd like to offer a presentation that presents some clear milestones for getting set up as an independent contractor including the financial logistics of doing business, networking, and most importantly the mental shift that you need to make to consider doing this.
