How MappingDC is putting DC on the OpenStreetMap
MappingDC is a local group dedicated to collecting and obtaining free data for the OpenStreetMap project. OpenStreetMap is similar to Wikipedia but instead of encyclopedia it is a map of the whole world. So far we've mapped Silver Spring, worked with the DC Government to change their terms of service to allow import and taught various people how to contribute to OSM.
I'll show how it takes all types to build the DC map and how it allows you to create free maps of information that interests you.
