Ignite DC #4

How My Brain Tumor Will Change Your Life

Six years ago, I had the first of three surgeries to remove a benign brain tumor. At that moment I also started down a path to understand myself better - and claim the strength I had to effect major change in my life.

You have that power as well. For IgniteDC, I want to share the lessons learned from this event in my life as a reminder and inspiration for yours...

Among them: - Be real - Be scared - Be curious - Ask for help and receive it - Never say: "You'll be fine" or "I understand" - Trust your body - Stick to your key message - And finally, even if a situation is out of your control, you always have a choice in how you react to it and what you do about it.

This is your chance, as it was mine, to decide what you want to do with your life and do it already. No kidding. If you bring an open mind, I promise to fundamentally change the way you see what's possible.
