Everyone jokes that they "forgot everything they learned in school," and "those that can't do, teach." Unfortunately these stereotypes are largely true. It is also unfortunate that to this day we still don't have equal access to education and there is a growing discrepancy between socioeconomic groups. Our current education model dates back 150 years with fixed curriculums, a classroom based structure and low-pay unionized jobs that chase most talented new teachers away after 2 years. We are loosing ground to other countries, particularly in the areas of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics and we need a paradigm change fast. Come hear about new advancements in education, learning models and innovative ways to track the performance of schools, teachers and students. Learn about a means to visualize where government stimulus money is going toward education and how you can track the impact over time. We need to abandon the education model of yesteryear, embrace modern technology and move to a performance based structure for all.
