Understanding Gen X and the Millennials through Popular Culture
Three manifestations of popular culture provide the study in contrasts that help us understand the differences between the Gen X and Millennial worldview: Superhero movies, Star Trek series, and popular music. Gadi Ben-Yehuda applies a phenomenological lens to multimedia texts, and manages to squeeze in Spider Man, Captains Janeway and Sisko, Alanis Morissette and Brittany Spears, into a five minute discourse on what our popular culture reveals about our perspectives and expectations.
