Curing the workforce epidemic: making joyful work a cultural norm
There’s an epidemic in this country that nobody is talking about. It’s a problem that is causing depression, slowing our achievement as a nation and eating at the souls of our workforce. It’s a problem so deeply engrained in our society that it has become the status quo. Nobody even recognizes it as something to be addressed: people don’t like their jobs.
It’s time to start a crusade against the status quo…and it starts with the businesses, associations, governments and even non-profits that have lost the sense that work can be joyful. As Arnold Toynbee said, “The supreme accomplishment is to blur the line between work and play.” It’s time to awaken the natural passions within all of us to perform better as a nation…to maximize human potential…and to be joyful while doing so.
This talk will examine the epidemic of our disengaged workforce and challenge corporations to join a movement to create purposeful and passion-filled workplaces.
