Everyone has an opinion about how to improve schools, student learning, and teachers, but few people ever bother to ask a teacher, let alone really think about what goes into teaching and learning. What should our goal for schools really be? How can we implement effective and long lasting change and embrace innovation? And what would really help teachers get there?
About Sharon Alayne Widmayer:
Sharon Widmayer is a teacher of English to Speakers of Other Languages in Fairfax County Public Schools. She has taught every level from elementary school to graduate students. She has a Ph.D. in Education from George Mason University, where her dissertation focused on teacher training and diffusion of innovation in schools. She has given presentations local, national, and international conferences for educators. She is also the overly opinionated mom of two public school students who sometimes wish she didn't know as much about education..
