How Yoga Can Shift a Haitian "Red-Zone" to "Love Zone"

About a year ago, an earthquake rocked Port-au-Prince and the global Haitian community. There were tons of donations made, numerous relief trips and innumerable tears shed. However, it is difficult for many to "see" their contribution.

In 2007, Edeyo Foundation established a school in Bel-Air – a “red-zone” area which international NGOs avoid due to security concerns. This school was completely destroyed in the earthquake of January 2010. Now we are rebuilding.

From February 19 - 26, 2010, I will take a trip to Haiti with Edeyo Foundation to work with youth and teachers to share the transformative power of yoga. This trip is not about giving this community something they do not possess. The trip is about cultivating the gems that already exist within each community member to help move forward by return them back to the beauty of their historical, intellectual and artistic past.
